So, its been one month since the burglary... lol why was there someone outside with a ladder again??... I think they were on the roof though. ..... Anyway, regardless of how paranoid I was, I went out to pick up Apy... driving fast so I could hurry up and get back before someone plotted on stealing anything again.
I was up, unable to sleep. Mindlessly and repetitively playing Solitaire on my phone did not work. I couldn't stop thinking last night on how badly the burglary affected me in the past month. I became even more worried about the fact that I'm hiding everything before I leave and how sometimes I JUST don't want to leave at all. Repeatedly looking over my shoulders.... this SUCKS. I then remembered how I felt when I was only a town away for the holiday festivities, and in the back of my mind wondered if the apartment was safe. I still expect the worst; alarm and all. NOT FUN! :(
As for more stupid crap-- getting screwed out of money for being completely honest; Allstate wanted to cover only most of the stuff (sans $300 of items that did not "belong" to Lee - my jewelry and purses), charge a $500 deductible and deduct more for depreciation. So out of the $1200, we got like $350 back. They said they would refund the GameCube depreciation amount if we bought a Wii. So, that would be us spending all that we got back, pretty much. They would refund the depreciation for other items as well... (What?! That's like $1 and yay... its like 42(?) cents per stamp just to mail the receipt...) How rude is that though? Depreciation?? F- that. Good job Allstate, way to kick someone while they're down. We paid full price for these items, and we get hit with depreciation!?... It's not like I am trading in a car as compensation for anything... this burglary was clearly NOT for my benefit. I got my stuff stolen. I want it back. Replacement is only materialistically sufficient.
